New kinds of thrills

2016 TLX

Acura has made a name for itself by producing some of the most respectable high-performance sedans on the road today while retaining their trademark sense of style and affordability. The 2016 Acura TLX is the second model year of Acura’s brand-new sport sedan, which replaced two outgoing models. It is high-performance, high-tech, and high-class, all in one, and it’s available now at a Kentucky Acura Dealer near you.

Power and traction

Whether your TLX has a 4-cylinder or a V6 under the hood, it is defined by its precision performance. Standard Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) gives you a level of control unlike any other all-wheel steering systems, and the available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) ensures you’ve got a solid grip on the pavement at all times. With the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, you can enjoy the control of a traditional transmission with the convenience of an automatic.

  • 2016 Acura TLX 2.4L Engine

    2.4L 4-Cylinder Engine

The standard powertrain on each TLX is far from “standard” when compared to its competition. Thanks to direct-injection technology, the 2.4L 4-cylinder is capable of 206 hp and 182 lb-ft of torque while being rated at an EPA-estimated 35 highway and 24 city mpg.[1]

  • 2016 Acura TLX 3.5L Engine

    3.5L V6 Engine

If you define a sport sedan by its power, you might be more inclined to drive a TLX V6 model, which has a 3.5L V6 engine with 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. The TLX V6 is also available with front- or all-wheel drive (Acura’s SH-AWD). Whichever model you choose, you’ll have a remarkable fuel efficiency that lets you justify the regular joyride: TLX FWD V6 models are rated at an EPA-estimated 34 highway mpg, while TLX SH-AWD V6 models get an EPA-estimated 31 highway mpg.[1]

    Precision All-Wheel Steer

P-AWS is a standard feature on each of the TLX models. It’s the first steering system that is able to individually adjust rear toe angles to give you superior cornering and state-of-the-art maneuverability. Combined with Active Handling Assist, you can look like a professional driver without having spent any time on the track.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Agile Handling

    Agile Handling Assist

It doesn’t take years of practice to be able to drive like a pro if you’re behind the wheel of the 2016 Acura TLX. By using Vehicle Stability Assist proactively, the Agile Handling Assist system is able to help you trace your line into and out of a curve with ease. Individually braking an inside wheel on a curve lets everyone else know that you know what you’re doing on the road.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Performance Braking

    Performance Braking

A high-performance engine requires high-performance brakes. The precision brake modulation of the TLX brings a new level of control thanks to solid rear disc brakes and front ventilated disc brakes. You might not want to slow the TLX, down, but when you need to, it’s ready for it.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Quiet Cabin

    Smooth and Quiet

You should be able to hear your friends and family—or your soundtrack—whether sitting parked or zipping down the highway, and the TLX has been designed for smooth and quiet driving from tip to tail, including the brakes, suspension, and body structure. They made sure you could still hear the engine roar, of course.

Athletic and energetic

A sport sedan would not be a sport sedan if it didn’t turn Kentucky drivers’ heads as it zips past. The 2016 Acura TLX has spent countless hours being designed and redesigned for an exterior that is both aerodynamic and eye-catching. From its Jewel Eye LED headlights to the built-in rearview camera on the back end, the TLX maintains that style is just as important as substance.

  • 2016 TLX Jewel Eye Headlights

    Jewel Eye LED Headlights

These Acura-exclusive headlights feature five LEDs in each and a set of reflectors that delivers a bright white beam using barely any energy at all. The reflectors give the TLX its unique look during the day, glinting in the sunlight like jewels and earning the headlights their name.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Rearview Camera

    Multi-View Rear Camera

It’s not a part of the head-turning style of the TLX, but that’s part of the point. The multi-view rear camera gives you three different looks at what’s behind your TLX without standing out from the elegant exterior design. Just shift into reverse and see the view from directly behind your car for the peace of mind you need when backing up.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Keyless Access

    Keyless Access System

The 2016 Acura TLX doesn’t just look smart, it is smart. It can know when your key fob is nearby, allowing you to just walk up toward the door and open it without digging for your keys. Sit behind the wheel, push the “start” button, and you’re on your way.

Serenity meets style

The TLX interior is engineered as a home away from home, a haven from the everyday life of the Kentucky driver. Active Sound Control and acoustically damped glass help keep road noise at bay so that you can enjoy the crystal-clear audio of the available ELS Sound System. Power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seating help keep you comfortable, reminding you that the driver’s seat of an Acura is the lap of luxury.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Front Seating

    Front Seating

As a sport sedan, the TLX has to be ready for when you take those sharp curves, and enhanced side bolsters help offer an added level of lateral support without sliding all over the car. Each front seat can be equipped with both heating and ventilation to help you stay comfortable in summer or winter.

    Rear Seating

While the 2016 Acura TLX is certainly a sport sedan, Acura designed it to be the sportiest family sedan around for drivers looking to spice up their garage. The rear seat has plenty of room for the kids, or as many as three full-size adults, and if you need to expand the trunk for some large cargo, the 60/40 split-folding rear seat should do the trick.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Audio

    ELS Premium Audio

Grammy award-winning sound engineer Elliot Scheiner worked one on one with Acura to design their advanced audio system. The available ELS Premium Audio helps give your sedan the sound and feeling of a music studio, delivering high-quality audio to your ears through this available 10-speaker stereo system.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Dashboard

High-tech and high-class merge seamlessly in the dashboard of the 2016 Acura TLX. The engineers have designed the TLX to integrate its technology in intuitive ways while competitors’ touchscreens and buttons still look like they are afterthoughts. Every inch of the TLX is designed with purpose.

    On-Demand Multi-Use Display (ODMD)

Imagine if you had a different button for all of the functions on your smartphone. That’s the way that in-vehicle infotainment systems were headed before Acura developed their On-Demand Multi-Use Display (ODMD). It adjusts the screen and buttons to fit your needs in a given moment, trimming dozens of buttons all the way down to just a handful.

    SMS/Email/Siri Eyes Free

The TLX lets you stay connected without trying to text behind the wheel. With SMS and email connectivity, you can send and receive your messages without ever taking out your phone, and iPhone users will have a familiar voice answering all of their questions. The TLX is compatible with Siri Eyes Free for enhanced iPhone connectivity.

Protection through every turn

A vehicle like the 2016 Acura TLX is designed for performance and speed, of course, and that means it must also be designed for safety. Features from the standard to the high-tech help to protect you, your passengers, and your vehicle. Advanced accident avoidance and driver assistance features of the AcuraWatch Plus package are available as well, while a standard Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure and suite of airbags help mitigate the damage of a collision.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Lane Assist

    Lane Keeping Assist

Most people don’t like backseat drivers, but the Acura Lane Keeping Assist system helps keep a lookout for you. If it senses you are having trouble staying in your lane, it will give you an alert and try to bring your attention back to the road.

  • Kentucky Acura Dealers

    Adaptive Cruise Control

Cruise control can make the long drive bearable, but needing to constantly adjust the speed when someone slows down or speeds up can be tiring. The TLX has Adaptive Cruise Control available that adjusts your cruise settings based on the speeds of the vehicles around you so that you can better enjoy the drive.

  • Acura Blindspot Information System

    Blind Spot Information System

Thanks to built-in radar, the available Blind Spot Information System is able to detect when a vehicle is in your “alert zones.” If it senses a vehicle there, it will light up part of your front pillar so that you can know there’s a car there without even checking. If you signal to move into that lane with the light on, the system will alert you to help avoid merging into another car.

  • 2016 Acura TLX Child Safety

    Child Safety

Safety belts are one of the best ways to protect passengers during an accident, but small children need special seats and safety belts. The TLX LATCH-compliant safety seats make it easy to secure your son or daughter before clicking your own belt in place. The front passenger airbag can even automatically deactivate if it notices there is not a full-size adult in the seat.

  • Kentucky Acura Dealers

    Collision Mitigation Braking

This available system uses a radar sensor mounted to the front of the TLX to see how far away and how fast the vehicle ahead of you is going. If it senses you are going too fast and are likely to collide with it, it can warn you or even apply the brakes directly to help avoid an accident.

  • 2016 TLX Road Departure Mitigation

    Road Departure Mitigation

Each road has special markings on the sides, and the available Road Departure Mitigation system in the TLX is able to detect them. If it senses you getting closer to the shoulder or veering off the road, the TLX can send a warning message to the dash or HUD to help bring your attention back to the road.
